It’s time for our September Students of the Month announcement! Last month, we focused on the theme of Resilience – the ability to cope with and recover from challenges. We were looking for students who: Can sit with the struggle and not give up, Are willing to practice in order to learn a skill, And who keep trying without letting a negative attitude get in the way. We're proud to recognize the following students for showing true resilience throughout the month of September: Ella, Lilly, Akira, Marcus. Ella, Lilly, Akira, and Marcus – please come down to the office after the announcements to be recognized. Great job! Now, as we move into October, our new focus is on Connection – emphasizing the importance of social connection and building a strong sense of community. This month, we’ll be looking for students who: Make time for positive peer and adult relationships, Speak to others with kindness and support those around them, And reach out to classmates outside of their usual friend group.

The Cross Country team had another great race last night! Audrey Bleck, Paige Callahan, & Ben Roe earned medals for their top 5 finishes & the girls team earned a 3rd place finish overall!

7th and 8th grade girls volleyball teams traveled yesterday to Johnson's Creek for a heart stopping double header. The 8th grade team played fiercely and battled 'til the end but fell 2-1. The 7th grade girls dominated the court and brought home a victory... 1 2 3 WHIPPETS!

The 7th grade Girls Volleyball team delighted parents and spectators alike yesterday as they went up against Fort Atkinson. The girls shone brightly on the court as both the A and B teams scored relentlessly and brought home victories... Way to go Whippets!

Congrats to our Cross Country team yesterday at the Elkhorn meet! The 6th & 7th grade girls team placed 2nd, with an outstanding 1st place finish from Audrey Bleck! Paige Callahan finished in 2nd place overall for 8th grade girls and Marcus Roe finished 9th place for the 8th grade boys! Emma Kuzoff, Izzy Bourdreau, & Ben Roe also finished in the top 20! The team has their next race on Monday afternoon!

8th graders! IF you missed the informational meeting last night for the 2026 trip to DC and New York it is not too late to sign up. See Mrs. Fanshaw for information on what to do next.

Hello WMS! Next week is homecoming over at the high school, and we would like to celebrate with them by having a dress-up week! Monday is the first day, and the first dress up is wild card. Each grade is assigned a color to wear. 6th grade is purple, 7th grade is blue, and 8th grade is black. Monday is also the high school's powderpuff game. The 7th grade volleyball team delighted family and friends on their season starter yesterday defeating Watertown. Our center court shook as our A Team scored relentlessly for a 3 nothing win. Our B Team started off slowly, falling in a heart stopping 2nd set 27-25, but coming back to a 25-12 3rd set win to close the match. Congratulations Girls, keep up the good work!

Good morning! For Hispanic Heritage Month, celebrated from September 15 to October 15, We will honor the history, culture, and contributions of Hispanic Americans each day this month!

First fact! Hispanic Heritage Month starts on September 15 because it’s Independence Day for five countries: Costa Rica, El Salvador, Guatemala, Honduras, and Nicaragua. Mexico the 16th and Chile the 18th!

Today, September 11 is the 24nd anniversary of 9/11, a day of historic significance for our nation. On September 11, 2001, terrorists attacked the United States and nearly 3,000 American citizens lost their lives. Please take time to reflect about those we lost and those who risked their lives to save others. This day also serves as a reminder for the appreciation for the people who work hard to keep us safe and protect our freedom every day. Thank you.
