On June 13th
, the United States Library of Congress received 19 interviews of local U.S. veterans conducted by middle school students in Mrs. Weigel's PLT. The interviews were done as part of the American Folklife Center's Veterans History Project. The mission of this project is to collect the oral histories and personal experiences of veterans who have served in the U.S. military. These interviews, as part of the Library of Congress's permanent collection, will be made available as primary sources to be used by historians and students. In May, the students in the Veterans History PLT hosted an Open House at the middle school to thank the veterans for their participation in the project and for their service to our country.
